Goods are considered originating if they have been produced in the member States wholly or partially from materials imported from outside the member States or of undetermined origin provided that:

  • The c.i.f. value of those materials does not exceed 60% of the total cost of the materials used in the production of the goods;
  • The value added resulting from the process of production accounts for at least 35% of the ex-factory cost of the goods;
  • Manufacture in which all the vegetables, fruit, nuts or other parts of plants used must be wholly produced

  • Manufacture in which all the materials of Chapters 7 and 8 used must be wholly produced

  • Manufacture in which all the materials of chapters 7,8, 17, and all headings of this chapter used are wholly produced. - This excludes manufacture from non-originating vegetables, nuts, fruits, cane sugar and preparations thereof.

  • Manufacture in which:
    - all the materials used are classified within a heading other than that of the product,
    - the value of any materials of Chapter 17 used does not exceed 30% of the ex-works price of the product
